It was first announced back in March there was going to be a Tesla only race series but since then, the folks behind it have been very quiet. Now for the first time, they have showed off one of the cars and it looks hilariously cool.
They have also released a little bit more information on how the series will run.
“There will be 10 teams and 20 drivers, who will compete across seven races during season one. Weekends will consist of a 20-minute practice session, 60-minute qualifying, a day race (60km) and a dusk race (60km). Each round will be a weekend-long festival of technology and innovation for sustainability, in and around the circuits.”
In theory it sounds great, but I don’t see it drawing in huge crowds. There’s nothing quite like the sound of a race track on an early Sunday morning.
